Seabed sampling
Seabed samples are required to survey geotechnical and geochemical properties of the sediment. Sampling also provides survey data to ground-truth geophysical survey interpretations to the seabed geology.
Arctia offers sampling services in offshore and onshore with a wide range ofsampling equipment. Service covers continuous and undisturbed core samples from shallow sediment depths where highest sampling quality is required for environmental surveys. A high-powered vibrocorer system allow us to take continuous sediment cores from dense and unconsolidated sediments up to 6 m below the seabed.
Sampling service includes sampling campaign planning, sampling with field observations, laboratory testing and reporting, considering national regulations. Geophysical surveys can be combined with the sampling campaign allowing a representative and appropriate sampling location.

Geotechnical survey
Arctia provides geotechnical drilling and sampling services to support design and construction industries.
In shallow waters Arctia operates geotechnical drill rig from own barge. To respond to the offshore geotechnical drilling demand, we are preparing our own mobile heave-compensated drill rig that can be operated with Arctia’s vessel fleet in deeper waters.
Arctia provides Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) via a subcontractor. CPT’s can be deployed from our own vessels.

Laboratory analyses
Laboratory testing is included in sampling service to determine the accuracy, determine the state of the environment and the geotechnical quality of sediment. Laboratory testing is provided in our partner accredited environmental and geotechnical laboratories to provide high quality datasets.
Arctia also provides offshore and onshore field testing and sample core logging by our experts.

Hydrographic and survey equipment
We operate seven hydrographic survey vessels, which are suitable for survey areas in the open sea, on the coast and in indoor waterways.
