We want to do things right
We strive to maintain transparency and high ethics in our company’s business. We value safety and the respect for all parties affected by our business. It is important for us to monitor the compliance of our principles in our everyday operations.
Our whistleblowing service
There is Whistleblower Act (Act on the Protection of Persons Reporting Infringements of European Union and National Law) in force in Finland. We utilize a whistleblowing channel in accordance with the Act for reporting suspected misconduct, through which suspected misconduct comes to our attention and is appropriately handled. The whistleblowing channel is an early warning system that aims to reduce risks. It is an important tool for fostering high ethics and maintaining customer and public trust in us.
You do not need to have evidence to support your suspicions, but reports must be made in good faith.
The report can be made in Finnish or English. At Arctia, you can also make a report to the whistleblowing channel anonymously.
When can I use the whistleblowing channel and obtain whistlerblower protection?
The Whistleblower Act contains provisions on the protection of the whistleblower and the legal protection of the person who the report concerns. The whistleblower receives protection provided by the Act if the conditions set out below are met. In that case, the report can safely be made with one’s own name and also name the person suspected of misconduct.
If you are a former employee, job applicant, intern, or Arctia's partner, supplier, customer, or a person employed by them, you can report misconduct you have observed at work or in connection with it.
It is also a condition that the suspected misconduct is punishable or may lead to a penalty payment or may seriously jeopardise the realization of the public interest and that the misconduct is related to one of the following matters:
- public procurement
- prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing
- product safety and compliance
- transport safety
- environmental protection
- protection of privacy and personal data and security of network and information systems
- EU and national competition rules
- EU or national grants and state aid rules
- EU expenditure, revenue and funds
- taxation
In the above cases, the protection of the whistleblower and the legal protection of the subject of the report are ensured in accordance with the Whistleblower Act.
Your message will be securely handled
The whistleblowing service is provided by an external partner WhistleB, Whistleblowing Centre, to ensure anonymity. The communication channel is encrypted and password protected.
Unless the report is anonymous, the reporting party will be notified of receipt no later than seven days after receipt of the report and will be informed of the measures to be taken based on the report within three months.
All messages will be processed in confidence.
