Management and governance

Arctia Ltd is the parent company of the Arctia Group. It owns 100 % of its subsidiaries Arctia Icebreaking Ltd, Arctia Offshore Ltd, Arctia Management Services Ltd and Arctia Meritaito Ltd as well as 90 % of Arctia Karhu Ltd. Our business units are icebreaking, fairway maintenance and hydrographic surveying. The company employs approximately 420 experts.

All of our operations comply with good governance, laws and regulations. In addition, our operation is guided by Arctia’s values, common operating policies and ethical guidelines.

Arctia is government´s special assignment company whose defined assignment is to ensure winter shipping that serves the transport needs of business and secures Finland's security of supply, focusing on cost-effective and low-risk ice breaking in the northern Baltic Sea, enabling military mobility and providing marine surveying, fairway maintenance and planning services related to the preparedness and readiness of the navy in all conditions. Arctia’s corporate governance falls within the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
